Moira Canal Festival 2015

We had a great day at Moira Canal Festival! There were duck races, classic cars, viking reenactments, a spitfire fly over and activities.

The festival is to raise awareness & money for the restoration, extension & maintenance of the Ashby Canal.

The furnace itself is a derelict 19th century blast furnace which is now a museum.

The Viking village was fascinating and the people there were brilliant to talk to. They were very knowledgeable and they were happy to share their expertise.

We ate a tasty organic beef burgers, drank Pimms and Beer and had a really wonderful day.

Thank you for a great fun packed day! The atmosphere was great and everything was very organised. We missed the Spitfire at the furnace but we got to see it perform from my house. Until next year!
